Thug gets jail for attack

A vicious thug who left a teenager scarred for life has been jailed.

Peter Campbell, 55, of Witchwood Court, Townhead, carried out a brutal assault on a 15-year-old boy, leaving him requiring more than a dozen stitches on his body and scarred for life.

The horrific attack happened on May 7 last year in Bargeddie.

Prosecutor Agnes Meek yesterday told Airdrie Sheriff Court how Campbell ripped open the young boy’s body with a piece of glass to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
