Tenants to tackle poverty

-

New Broomfield was the venue for this year’s conference held by North Lanarkshire Federation of Tenants and Residents.

Delegates took part in workshops, received an update from Police Scotland and attended an information session highlighting deprivation and how it can be tackled.

Council assistant chief executive Des Murray spoke about the authority’s plans to deliver 2150 new council homes in the next decade.

He said: “It was a welcome opportunity to talk to tenants and residents about the council’s plans for the future and it’s great to see people engaging in events highlighting key housing issues affecting their communities.”

Federation chair Anne McGhee outlined the organisation’s work and successes over the past 12 months.

She thanked the executive committee and everyone who attended the event.
