Shoppers give snap judgement

To mark National Selfie Day, we gave Monklands residents the chance to take their own selfies and give their views on the craze which has captured the imagination of everyone from shoppers on the streets to Kim Kardashian in Dubai.

Petersburn’s Marta Lancar, with daughter Emma: “I take one just for fun sometimes.” Elaine Thomson, 43, from Chapelhall: “I don’t take many, around one a month.” Linda Kerr, 52, from Plains: “I’ve never taken one. I just don’t do selfies.” Airdrie worker Barry McGonigle, 23: “I’d say I take selfies at least once a week.”
