Come and go to get shops open again

Dear Editor, I thought that the John Orr’s building was going to be shop outlets.

That would be a waste of money as there are a lot of closed shops in Airdrie, which should be reopened by letting people who could sell goods try to get a profit in the first year lease-free.

Then they could be charged so much per year. Come and go with the people who open shops and work out what they can afford to pay every year.

I also hope that the SNP are going to check up on all high towers in Scotland and make sure there are sprinkler systerms in them and also fire escape routes by having metal escape stairs down the sides of every building. J Simpson, Clarkston
