Ramblers take on double tops
The Monklands Ramblers are off to Blairgowrie and Glenshee on a hike this weekend.
On Saturday ( July 1) the Ramblers head to Glenshee, which will take the group over two Munros – Glas Maol and Creag Leacach.
The route is graded “B”, as these are two of the easier Munros and are accessible to most walkers. They will be paced accordingly.
There is an alternative circular “C” walk from Blairgowrie. This follows the eight-mile River Ericht path with a possible extension.
First pick- up for the bus is at the Time Capsule at 8.30am; followed by a pickup at Aldi car park in Airdrie at 8.40am.
The group charge £12 bus fare to most walks and have an introductory offer of £5 on the first walk. The full summer walk programme is on their website.
The Ramblers have an introductory pack with tips on what gear is required for different terrain.
There are usually two walks of different levels available, but you will have to talk to the Ramblers beforehand.
