Rovers ready for Real deal
Albion Rovers have announced a unique friendly against Indian outfit Real Kashmir.
The I- League Second Division side will travel to Coatbridge as part of their tour of Scotland under former Rangers player David Robertson.
Rovers boss Brian Kerr was looking forward to the game at Cliftonhill next Monday, adding: “It’s good to test ourselves against all different standards.
“We are playing Clyde and Dumbarton, so I’m sure Real Kashmir will offer another type of challenge.”
The Rovers men will take on Clyde at Cliftonhill on Saturday in their first game of pre-season, and Kerr hopes to bring in some trialists in the left-back and centre-back positions.
Ross Perry, who played for Clyde in the second half of last season, is expected to feature in the game for Rovers having been on trial with the team.
“There are a few boys still on holiday, so from a defensive side it will be made up of young players and trialists.
“Our attacking options will be all new players, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they play together.”
Saturday’s kick- off is at 3pm, while Monday’s kickoff is at 7.45pm.
