I’m like the Kat that got the cream

-

I could barely contain my excitement as I went to peruse the Kat Von D make up range now that it has finally landed on these shores.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Kat, pictured left, she’s a famous tattoo artist from the US and star of the TV series Miami Ink and LA Ink.

She oozes funky, gothic style and her make up and look is always stunning.

When she initially launched her make up range in the States, ironically it consisted mainly of tattoo covering products.

That definitely piqued my interest as cosmetic camouflage is something I specialise in, but she has now developed a full range of fabulous products.

I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on some of them and I wasn’t disappointed after my trip to Debenhams Silverburn.

Firstly, the counter and packaging are gorgeous. Black, of course, and quite gothic as you would expect.

I decided to try her under eye concealer/brightener.

This product is available from every brand yet I’m still in search of ‘the one’.

I purchased her ‘Lock-it creme concealer’ which I love.

It’s a creamy, blendable 24-hour coverage that does not look heavy, cakey and drying. At last!! It brightens, conceals and corrects discolouration which makes it a winner to me.

I also picked up her Tattoo Liner in black. It has a superfine flexible brush tip for very precise application.

Its also waterproof which is good for my sensitive watery eyes.

I really like it but I don’t find it to be as high in pigment as others on the market. e.g. compared to the Make up Forever liner this one seems quite soft in colour. Nice and easy to use, though, if you struggle with precise liner.

My final product (for now) was a lipstick.

I went for a pink called Magick. The case is to die for!

Everyone wants a lipstick which is long lasting but not drying. Bingo, I think I’ve found it.

The texture was quite matte but comfortable and it lasted all afternoon.

It’s definitely worth investing in some kit from Kat.
