Ramblers plan ahead for rural trip

-

The Monklands Ramblers visit to Corrour next months will involve additional transport as they travel to one of the most remote locations in Scotland.

With no road access, the group are planning ahead for the trip on July 29.

The bus has an earlier 8am start and will stop at Bridge of Orchy railway station.

From there, the Ramblers will take the train two stops up the line to Corrour.

The bus fare will be subsidised by the club and cost £5 for all.

However, everyone will have to pay their own rail fare which is £13.80 return (£7 single each way).

The return trip leaves Corrour just after 6pm.

There are various discounts available if you have a senior or student railcard, Club 50 or kids go free .

Full details of the walks will be given in the newsletter.

•Some club members recently enjoyed a Monday to Friday break in Knoydart and have booked again for next year.

Unfortunately the group cannot get any of the May holiday weekends.

They have booked the weekend starting May 18 instead.

There are usually two walks of different difficulty levels available, but you will have to talk to the Ramblers beforehand.
