Murray is on the top card

-

Coatbridge welterweight Gary Murray is back in action this Saturday.

Murray - who boasts an 11-0 record - will appear at the Braehead Arena on the undercard of the‘Bad Blood’ event.

The fighter got his year off to an excellent start with a victory over Belfast’s Casey Blair in January and he is looking to build on that success with a big performance on Saturday night.

“I’m really looking forward to this one,”he said.

“It’s the first televised bill I’ve boxed on and the biggest bill to date so it’s great to be a part of it.

“Training has gone well, this one is quite short notice but I’m always in the gym ticking over and I’ll be ready to put on a show when the bell rings.”

Murray believes he is working his way up through the welterweight division, and is closing in on his first title opportunity.

He is looking to use the fight this weekend as a platform to underline his title credentials.

“This is the perfect stage to go out there and show everyone what I’m capable of.

“Hopefully, when I come through this I’m going to get a step up fight, that’s what we had started training for before this opportunity presented itself.

“We want a progression fight, something that’s going to get me in the mix.”

Tickets for the event are available from Murray by contacting him directly through social media.
