Body found in flat

A post-mortem has been carried out after the body of a man was found in a Coatbridge flat.

Police are treating the death as “unexplained” and are looking for the results of the post-mortem to inform the victim’s family about the circumstances relating to the man’s passing.

The grim discovery was made at a property on Beechwood Drive, in Green end, last Thursday afternoon and police are still carrying out enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 3.25pm on Thursday, police received a report of a man’s body being discovered in Beechwood Drive, Coatbridge.

“Officers are currently treating the death as unexplained.

“A post-mortem examination has been carried out and enquiries are ongoing.”
