Starting schooldays

Little saints were marching into life in education in this week’s picture of new starts from Monklands schools.

St Aloysius Primary welcomed the Advertiser along to take this photo from the edition of September 29, 1989.

A total of 26 eager youngsters joined up for classes at the Chapelhall school and are pictured with teacher Evelyn Boyle. A spokesperson said: “Staff have been very impressed by how quickly the kids have settled in.”
