Pupils sit­ting pretty for fire safety talk

There was no dous­ing the burn­ing am­bi­tions of Coat­bridge school­child­ren as they en­joyed a spe­cial visit in the sum­mer of 2002.

Coat­bridge fire sta­tion staff popped along to Green­hill Pri­mary to give a fire safety pre­sen­ta­tion.

The pic­ture fea­tured in the Ad­ver­tiser on July 26 that year and shows pupils lis­ten­ing in­tently to the fire­fight­ers’ lessons. Talks were given and a video shown about how to prevent fires from hap­pen­ing.

A Green­hill Pri­mary spokesper­son said: “We en­joyed hav­ing the fire­fight­ers from Coat­bridge along and the chil­dren were all ears for their pre­sen­ta­tion.

“Fire safety is very im­por­tant to learn about and this talk made a real im­pres­sion on our pupils.”
