ROVERS TERRACE TALK with Sam Tennent Away days put smiles on fans’ faces
Can we play away every week? That’s the question Rovers fans are asking after another terrific performance on the road, this time against a much fancied Arbroath side.
It would be fair to say that the result flattered the home side with Rovers squandering several great chances during a breathtaking second-half performance which threatened to overwhelm the Red Lichties. That 45 minutes followed a first half during which Brian Kerr’s men played a hugely efficient counter-attacking game.
Two chances and two goals of real quality from Alan Trouten and Gary Fisher left the enthusiastic band of away fans in dreamland at the break.
The only slight downside from this performance was the failure to keep a clean sheet – especially as this was by some distance the best defensive performance of the season so far from Rovers.
That’s three victories in three away games so the big question is obviously, can the boys translate their away form into performances that will gain points at Cliftonhill?
