All eyes on the prizes
The spotlight shone on seniors at St Ambrose High as the Coatbridge school hosted a glittering awards ceremony.
Multi-talented S4-6 youngsters were cheered on by proud-as-punch parents, family and friends as they scooped a range of prestigious prizes.
The honours reflected all of the hard work put in over the previous school session and the diverse awards dished out was a testament to the type of selfless dedication being put in by pupils in school, at home and within the local community.
Among those recognised were nine students, Junhua Lin, Joshua McCormick, Samson Taylor, Emma O’Brien, Melissa Ross, Mia Gurure, Alice Kane, Ellie McCormack and Molly McDines, who secured A grades in their National 5 exams.
Callum Murray, Scott Finnieston, Sarah Donaldson and Kelly Quigley won the Campbell Scholarship for achieving five A’s in their Higher subjects and Ryan Kelly received the Livingstone Award for service to the community.
Other awards handed down marked pupils’excellence in their Higher and National 5 exams and well-earned pride was written all over the faces of every winner.
A spokesperson for the school said: “The senior awards ceremony is always one of the most anticipated dates on the school calendar and we wish to congratulate all of the winners.
“They have done fantastically well and we were honoured to be able to give them a nice, well-deserved reward for all of their hard work throughout the session.”
