Bee-ing nice to each other

- Staff reporter

A superlative story with a sting in the tale was told by high-flying youngsters at an Airdrie school.

Golfhill Primary hosted a ‘Billy No Buzz‘ assembly, where pupils put on a performance designed to show the importance of being friends.

A school spokesperson explained: “The story was about how Billy Bee has no buzz and the other bees don’t want to be his friend.

“Some beautiful dragonflies show them that we can live together in the world and be kind to each other, despite our differences.”

The children wore some cracking colours as they dressed as bees, dragonflies and flowers to bring sunshine into the lives of the enraptured audience.

Meanwhile, the caring staff and pupils at Golfhill also dug deep to collect an impressive four-figure sum for St Andrew’s Hospice.

The £1025.50 total was raised through various school events, including a yellow walk, and a delighted Ross Grant from the Airdrie hospice accepted the donation during a visit to the school.
