Season’s greetings – how to trip the light fantastic

-

As we move through the seasons the light outdoors changes and we should adapt our make up to suit.

Have you ever come back from holiday and wondered where your tan has gone? Did it fall off in the plane? Well it’s still there, kind of.

The warmer the climate the warmer the light outdoors. The cooler the climate the cooler the light.

So with that in mind , we should adjust our make up to suit as this keeps our complexions looking fresh and natural.

During spring, a softer peachy tone works beautifully, it’s not time yet to reach for the bronzer. On the eyes use greys, taupes and peach and navy to line instead of black.

In the warm light of the summer bronzer works a treat to enhance your holiday tan. It harmonises with the warm light so it looks very natural.

Shimmer and gloss look amazing, while darker colours can look dull and over done. It should be coral lips and nails all the way.

Come winter, opt for cool tones. If you must use a bronzer, make it a very cool tone. Ideally don’t use one at all, instead use a natural contour and blush to warm your skin. Don’t use anything with an orangey undertone as it will look dirty. You can go full on dark smokey for the eyes and even team it with dark lips for a sleek, edgy look.

Right now it’s Autumn, so use the stunning natural colours around you to inspire your look – plums, berries, rust, greens and yellows.

A little bit of bronzer can still work but opt for more muted colours rather than the vivid brights or anything too glossy.

Nights out are different because the daytime light is no longer an issue.

But if you are heading out for lunch or going for a stroll in the park, let these lighting tips be your guide to keeping you looking young, fresh and sophisticated.
