Forget a split get the town in order
Dear Editor
Regarding the Boundary Commission proposal to split Airdrie across two parliamentary constituencies
[ Advertiser, October 18] – what else is next?
I am proud to be Airdrieonian, and all my ancestors were Airdrie.
Airdrie should be kept together as a town and not split up.
It would be better to get Airdrie back to what it was, a clean and tidy town with lovely shops such as Orrs and Henderson’s.
The council closed the Arts Centre, which was a good place to go for tea or lunch. Councillors should do things to help the town, clean it up and get decent shops, and get rid of undesirables hanging about, which didn’t happen before.
