Online praise for young musician and for golden wedding anniversar­y couple

Advertiser Facebook readers had plenty of praise for Airdrie singer Robbi McFaulds as he released his debut single.

The 19-year-old recorded Lies at a London studio with renowned producer Anthony Goldsbroug­h, who has worked with stars including Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sande.

Eilatan Closkey said: “Well done Robbie. What an achievemen­t! Well deserved for all your hard work and commitment.”

Donna M Hughes added: “Fab, well done and all the best Robbi!”; and Lee Anne added: “Good on you son, best of luck.”

Facebook friends were also pleased to hear of the return of popular horse statue Flora and Fauna to its prime spot in Centenary and West End Parks, after it had to be removed for a month for a painstakin­g repair.

Gayle Isabella Cargill said: “So glad, it’s part of the area now – got such a fright when I saw it was gone.”

Donna Mullen said: “Wonder if someone will put the Santa hat and tinsel on it this year?”

Vicki Mcculloch Finnigan soon shared a festive photo of exactly that scene from 2016 – showing the horse with a tinsel garland and a Santa hat on each ear.

She said: “When I came home last Christmas for a holiday from Canada, I took a picture! Well done on restoring Flora and Fauna back to her original state.”

Readers were also delighted to hear of the golden wedding celebratio­ns of Chapelhall couple Marie and Norbert Grant, with messages of congratula­tion flooding in for their 50th wedding anniversar­y.

Among them was Lorna McIndoe, who said: “Congratula­tions! I met this lady many years ago at a mums and tots group, she has always stuck in my memories – lovely lovely lady.”

Maureen Kelly Houston has also been celebratin­g a special event of her own, posting: “Congratula­tions to you both. I was born on the day you were married.”
