First Langloan win of W/D season

-

W/D ...................... 8 Loch Lomond ........ 7 Waysiders/Drumpellier continued their climb up the West Division Two table in a bad tempered clash with Loch Lomond.

The Langloan first team leapfrogged their opponents in the table as well as securing their first home win of the season – despite a flurry of cards.

The home team was reshuffled following last week’s result and after injuries at training this week.

W/D were reduced to fourteen early in the game following a sin bin for a high tackle, and 10 minutes later Lomond’s Gilmour found himself in the book for the visitors. It was W/D who drew first blood and slotted over a penalty to go into the lead but Lomond got themselves ahead through a converted try.

Paul Wilson weaved his way through the defence from 30 metres out and dived under the posts to give Bailey an easy kick.

An exchange of words with the referee saw another W/D player sin binned on the stroke of half-time, with the away side having a further two men shown yellow in the second period.

The Langloan men exploited the gaps and moved the ball well into space to score. Despite the flurry of cards shown, the game was played to a good standard by both teams.
