Winter fayre will take place at Ebenezer Congregational Church on Broomknoll Street on Saturday from 11am. Stalls include tombola, cake and candy, toy tombola and jewellery. Entry is £3, including tea.
Airdrie Spiritualist Church meets on Tuesdays in Whinhall’s Beechbank community centre from 7.30pm. Contact organiser Nan on 01236 767007 for further details. Creative writing group meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at Chapelside centre on Black Street, from 12 noon to 2pm. The group is looking for new members and welcomes all those interested in writing in a diverse range of genres, including poetry, short stories and local history.
Recovery cafe run by Love N’Light Recovery Org takes place at Pilgrim community centre on Victoria Place, every Saturday from 12 noon to 4pm. It includes motivational speakers, a conversational cafe, fun hub, 12 steps participation and arts and crafts for kids. The organisation has been included in this year’s Aviva community fund project and is asking for support online from local residents to help earn a grant from the fund; visit www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/ voting/project/view/17-4175 to lend support. @home Youth Centre has a purpose-built recording studio which is available every Friday from 5pm to 10pm, with staff on hand to help record and mix tracks. This facility is available free of charge to singers and bands aged under 25.
