Court date missed
Threats to woman
A Cairnhill yob who placed a woman in a state of fear and alarm faces a further wait to discover if he can vary his court order punishment – after failing to surface in the dock for his application hearing.
Int o x i c ated Dav i d Henderson behaved in an aggressive manner towards the terrified female at his Stonehaven Crescent home on May 10 last year.
He shouted and swore at her before refusing to let her leave the property.
Henderson then followed his victim outside when she managed to escape.
She was spotted by concerned neighbours who called the police.
The 47-year-old owned up to his shameful conduct at Airdrie Sheriff Court and was sentenced to a community payback order of supervision for a period of 15 months and 60 hours’ unpaid work four months after the offence.
During Henderson’s sentencing, procurator fiscal Yolande Love described his actions on the day of his foulmouthed rant: “At 3.30pm, the complainer and accused got into an argument. He became aggressive and wouldn’t let her leave.
“She managed to get out and the accused followed her and shouted ‘ f****** prostitute’.
“He was seen by neighbours and police were called. He was taken to Coatbridge police office.”
Henderson was due to appear in court last week with an application to alter his order, but failed to show.
Sheriff Frank Pieri then continued proceedings until December 6 “for his [ Henderson’s] personal appearance”.
