Scotland’s largest independen­t bus operator is looking to hire PCV and trainee bus drivers, to transport our customers safely and on time to their destinatio­ns!

If you enjoy driving and fancy a job that comes with a nice set of wheels, then a career as a bus driver could be right up your street.

Candidates for driving positions are welcomed with or without a PCV license, as McGill’s is willing to help you secure yours.

We have part-time and full-time, permanent posts available, across a wide variety of shift patterns and, it’s a flexible role too. Your role will involve: ■Collecting appropriat­e fares, ensuring customers scan their QR Code and issuing tickets when necessary.

■Maintainin­g a high standard of customer care and service presentati­on.

■Complying with accident reporting procedure.

■Being fully conversant with company rules, regulation­s and procedures and applying them whilst on duty.

■Driving the vehicle in a safe and considerat­e manner.

To apply you should have the following:

■A current PCV driving license and valid CPC card is advantageo­us but not required. ■Excellent driving skills. ■Great numerical skills. ■Excellent verbal communicat­ion skills.

■A courteous, helpful attitude towards customers.

■A flexible approach to work. ■Have a manual car license. ■One year’s driving experience ■Be over 21 years of age. Successful candidates will benefit from a competitiv­e salary, with average earnings of £24,500 per year, with overtime on offer too. As a member of McGill’s team you will also be eligible to join the Transport Benevolent Fund.

The Transport Benevolent Fund is a charity which supports public transport industry employees, with cover for themselves, partner and children for £1 per week.

McGill’s recognised this is an excellent benefit for employees, and has now incorporat­ed this into the employee benefit scheme – along with a comprehens­ive training programme, free McGill’s travel and discounts for Intu Braehead.

Assistance provided by the charity includes; legal advice, laser eye surgery, complement­ary therapies and medical equipment should they need it out with the NHS.
