Children’s rights march
Kids from the Coatbridge joint campus of greenhill and drumpark primary schools took to the streets of their hometown last week to march for children’s rights.
and the campaigning youngsters were joined by hundreds of teachers, parents and community members in their bid to raise awareness of inclusion and equality for children in the community.
the march was the first-ever event of its kind and co-organiser Kristen Weir, acting principal teacher at greenhill, described it as “fantastic”.

Pupils and staff from Drumpark and Greenhill primaries took part in last week’s Rights Respecting Schools Award event around the town, to raise awareness of inclusion and equality for children in the community.
Hundreds of kids and staff took to the streets, where they were joined by parents and community members.
A representative from Drumpark Primary said: “It was absolutely phenomenal. The support we received was fantastic. It could not have gone better. The children are still buzzing.”
The event was organised by Drumpark’s head teacher Gillian Pollock, principal teacher Jenny Daigle, and their Greenhill counterparts head teacher Lorraine McBride and acting principal teacher Kristen Weir.
Kristen added: “It was fantastic. We are on our way to getting the community involved in promoting children’s rights.”
