Guild will ruffle feathers with new show

- Ian Bunting

The Airdrie Arts Guild Drama Group are looking to hatch a plan to put on a show to remember as they prepare for their big winter production.

The talented performers will take to the stage at Airdrie’s Sir John Wilson town hall for their production of classic pantomime Mother Goose from next Tuesday, November 28, to Saturday, December 2.

Parents are urged not to let bored children ruffle their feathers ahead of Santa Claus’ arrival and join the guild in having some festive fun.

Mother Goose forms part of the group’s 50th anniversary celebrations and is set to bring the curtain down on their milestone year in fittingly spectacular style.

The traditional story is given a makeover in Alan P. Frayn’s version of the popular pantomime, which contains“all the traditional ingredients – an outrageous dame, a baddie to shout and hiss at and a fairy to save the day”.

Tickets for the show are priced £15 for adults and £10 for children; £10 concessions for senior citizens are on offer for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening shows.

Discounts are available for block bookings and the guild advise people to book early, especially for the Saturday matinee performance.

Call the box office on 07506 214737 to book tickets and visit www.facebook.com/ AirdrieArtsGuildDramaGroup/ for further details on the production.
