Over 5 stones lighter

A marvellous mum inspired to shed stones to look after her two children has reached her target weight.

Kerryann Anderson, from Airdrie, has lost five stones four pounds in just over a year and is now finding it “much easier” to care for her family.

The 32- year- old told the Advertiser: “I wanted to get fit and healthy for my children; my son is autistic and challenging and I thought losing some weight would help with looking after him.

“I joined Slimming World in June last year and haven’t looked back; I have already reached my target weight.

“On the first night at group, I was very anxious about joining and had to take a friend along with me for the first couple of weeks.

“But it has been a joy to be a part of the group and now I am able to teach my children how to be healthy and also pass on good eating habits.

“We eat as a family and sometimes I have to disguise the vegetables!”

Kerryann joined the Slimming World group who meet at Cairnlea church hall in Airdrie and consultant Sharon McGinness said: “Kerryann is a part of the social team and is an amazing support for all of our members.

“She has also stopped smoking and kept her new slinky figure as she can still fill up on lots of free foods.

“Without the group’s help and support, and everyone being so friendly, she wouldn’t have stayed and succeeded.

“She had her odd moment of anxiety, but she overcame it big time, coming into the group and staying every week.

“Kerryann is now a completely d i f f e rent person. She is inspirational, still picks up hints and tips and is very supportive to all of our members.

“She is a credit to herself and her supportive family.”
