Tot Kacey picks up Miss Junior Scotland title
Two-year-old wins in first pageant
A Coatbridge toddler has been crowned Miss Junior Scotland after competing in her firstever beauty pageant.
Little Kacey Caldwell was delighted to win the title in the under-fours category after showcasing her talents in the prestigious competition in Glasgow.
The two- year- old tot, who attends Manor Park Nursery, enjoyed being a princess for a day and dazzled the judges in a range of stunning costumes in her debut contest.
Kacey took part in four rounds, competing against hundreds of youngsters from across the country to reach the final.
Proud mum Nicole Kershaw told the Advertiser: “She did fantastically well and she even surprised me.
“Her favourite sections were the Hallowe’en costume where she dressed up as a ringmaster and the evening dress round.”
Nicole continued: “She just loves wearing nice dresses and dressing up in general.
“Kacey had a great time, she absolutely loved taking part and will now represent Scotland in a few weeks time.
“But I don’t think it has sunk in for her yet.
“She had an amazing time and was desperate to get up on the stage; she certainly took it all in her stride.”
And in preparation for her big catwalk debut, Kacey recently raised £ 115 for the Scottish SPCA, by taking part in a Tot Toddle in Edinburgh.
Nicole added: “I found out about the event which was for children under six to enable them to raise money for their chosen charity.
“It was good for her and she didn’t need any kind of coaching, and it was a nice fun day out for everyone.”
The precocious youngster was supported by her proud parents Nicole and Andrew, who were “chuffed to bits” to see their daughter taking to the stage and winning the competition.
Nicole added: “It’s the first time that any of us have taken part in anything like this, but it was just a bit of fun.”
The Coatbridge tot was presented with her sparkling crown and sash by Leah Canning, Miss Teen Scotland.
And she also won a family pass to Deep Sea World and is now looking forward to representing Scotland in the next round of the competition.
