New website offers support
Advice on a wide variety of issues
To mark the launch of an exciting new health and social care partnership website – Making Life Easier (MLE) – a presentation was made to the council’s social work sub committee.
MLE is an online service which provides people with a gateway to a whole range of support.
It’s unique and easy to use, which means that early intervention and prevention is a reality for Monklands residents.
People can complete a selfassessment and the website provides personalised responses in the form of hints and tips, and signposting to local services, and, when required, equipment to help people with problems in their homes.
Morag Dendy, who oversees self- directed support in North Lanarkshire, said: “It was an excellent opportunity to showcase this latest partnership development to elected members.
The expert app provides help and support on a variety of concerns, including mental health, finance, difficulties with daily activities or addiction.”
Councillor Pat O’Rourke, convener of the social work sub-committee, added: “It was encouraging to hear about some of the real partnership progress being made in delivering services to improve people’s lives.
“The collaboration of knowledge and resources across all partner agencies has reaffirmed our commitment to making lives better in North Lanarkshire.”
