MSP’s surgery Coatbridge & Chryston MSP Fulton MacGregor will be holding a winter advice surgery in St Patrick’s Hall this Friday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Advice will be on offer from representa­tives of the citizens advice bureau, Money Advice Scotland, Scottish Gas, Police Scotland and North Lanarkshir­e Council.

CAP job club meets on Mondays from noon until 2pm at Hope Church on Bank Street. Those who are looking for work are invited to attend for friendly, practical support in finding a job. Lunch is provided; places can be booked by calling 0800 328 0006.

Christmas fayre will take place at Buchanan and St Ambrose High schools on Tuesday, November 28. It will run from 6pm to 8pm and include stalls, raffles, tombola, hot and cold food, prize bingo and Santa’s grotto. Admission costs £1 for adults and 50p for children.

Charity night The Angel of Love and Light Spirituali­st Church are holding a charity evening in aid of the Lanarkshir­e Associatio­n for Mental Health on Monday, December 18, at Coatbridge Community Centre’s multi-room. Doors open at 7.10pm for a 7.30pm start and the event ends around 9.15pm. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought any Monday at the church at 7pm; all ticket money goes to the charity and for further details, call 07539 946335. 4th Coatbridge Girls’ Brigade meet at 6.45pm every Tuesday in Middle Church hall, on Bank Street; new girls of school age are welcome to join.
