Well wishes in healthy supply for family of miracle babies and a diamond couple
The heartwarming story of miracle babies, and identical twins, Elliot and Oliver Drake preparing to celebrate their first Christmas was well received by our Facebook readers.
The baby boys developed rare condition TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome) and mum Lynsey Hay had to undergo surgery while her sons were still in the womb.
But remarkable little Elliot and Oliver were later born via emergency C-section, at 34 weeks, and are now looking forward to Santa’s arrival with Lynsey, their dad Anthony and big sister Amelia.
Kerry Miller welcomed the news: “Aw, glad to see everything is going well.
“Congratulations on your gorgeous boys; hope you all have a lovely Christmas.”
Kerry Hughes Syme posted: “Lynsey is such a kind-hearted girl. So happy your babies are a picture of health.”
Elizabeth Goldie added: “Great story Lynsey, have a fantastic family Christmas.”
Lou Norton commented: “Beautiful family Lynsey. So glad the boys are doing much better now.”
Nicola Croal said: “What an amazing story! Lovely boys, and proud big sister.”
Gemma Love wished the family well for the festive period: “Have a lovely family Christmas, guys.”
Mum Lynsey got in contact to pass on her appreciation to everyone who got in touch: “Thanks everyone.”
Also winning the seal of approval from the Advertiser’s Facebook community were Coatbridge couple Janet and Matthew Peat who celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Janette Cochrane posted: “Congratulations. I remember Mrs Peat from when I was in the Girls’ Brigade more than 40 years ago.”
Jean Lewis said: “Well deserved. Congratulations to them both.”
Brian Horner added: “What a tremendous achievement by Janet and Matthew. All the best to the happy couple.”
