Seeing red ... a great look that will leave others green-eyed

-

The flame-haired look is making a huge comeback for 2018 and I am a big fan of titian tresses.

I had red hair for years and I loved it.

I regularly changed the style and tone from vibrant copper to darker violet tones.

When it’s freshly done it’s so glossy and looks gorgeous.

But it does require a fair bit of up keep as it can lose its vibrance and lustre after just one wash.

There are so many stunning make up looks that really complement red hair, but I have a particular favourite.

There’s an old saying that red and green should “never be seen without a colour in between” but I love the amazing contrast of green eye make up against red hair.

And rather than clashing, it really works well.

 Start by applying an eye shadow primer to the eye area. Benefit Stay Don’t Stray is a favourite as it lasts a long time.

 Apply a peachy tone to the brow bone with a soft brush and blend out to create a soft hue. That soft peach beside the green will soften and warm the look and this simple step can prevent this looking too bold or harsh.

 Using a blending brush and some bright green shadow, apply to the crease of the eyes, inner and outside corners.

This will leave the centre of the eyelid free of colour at this point.

The Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette would work really well for this look.

 For the centre of the lid try using a champagne, silver or pale green shadow to the centre of the lid.

Take a flat firm brush and pat it on to the area.

This will break up the vibrant green to give more balance.

 Depending on the shape of your eyes, either continue all around the eyes with the green shadow, or stick to a black liquid liner along the top.

 As usual apply lashings of mascara for a polished look.

If green really isn’t your thing then try using bright blue or purple.

The Urban Decay palette will give you lots of options and they all look stunning with red tresses.
