Stinging defeat after Rovers errors

-

Alloa ..................... 3 Albion Rovers ....... 1 Albion Rovers boss Brian Kerr has called for his players to cut out individual errors after defeat to Alloa.

Striker Joao Victoria gave the visitors the lead before former Rovers striker Ross Stewart - who is on loan at the Wasps from St Mirren - levelled the game.

PJ Crossan and Iain Flannigan stung Rovers - leaving a four point gap between the Coatbridge outfit and the relegation places.

The Cliftonhill gaffer has seen his side drop to third bottom and sit with the worst defensive record in the SPFL. He insisted his players must halt the slide.

“It’s been a difficult spell for us,”he told the Advertiser.

“We seem to get a bit of momentum in games, and be playing well and then it just all goes.

“We had a young defence on the pitch and these things can happen.

“It’s an area where we can pinpont a few times in the season where we have been unlucky - but we have got to cut out the individual errors.”

Alloa are 14 points adrift of Raith but boss Jim Goodwin was still eyeing up a title bid:“Anything can still happen. “We need them to have a couple of really poor games back-to-back to capitalise on it but in 10 or 12 games’time let’s see where we are.

“Hopefully we will be up there pushing them. I’m just delighted to get back to winning ways. We showed a great reaction to come back.”
