For an authentic Japanese dining experience, step into Oiishi Japanese Cuisine – located in the Village, East Kilbride.

Oiishi – as it’s more commonly known – offers a unique, unpretentious surrounding with its minimalist, yet striking approach.

To date, the restaurant has proudly reached over one hundred 5-star reviews on Facebook and rapidly ascended the ratings as one of East Kilbride’s top restaurants on TripAdvisor.

An impressive achievement as it only launched on October 10 last year.

Whether you’re looking for a light social/business lunch, dinner with family and friends or a special night with your partner, Oiishi caters for you.

In addition to this, the restaurant can also be booked for social or business events; offering use of the front or back half of the restaurant, separated by large bamboo shoots and optional blinds for additional privacy.

With a varied menu offering something to suits all tastes, mouthwatering appetisers such as Teriyaki Pork Ribs, Ebi (King Prawn) Tempura and Gyoza Dumplings only begin to tell a story.

Mains range from the ever-popular Katsu Curries to Nippon Cha-Han (speciality fried rice dishes) and Teppanyaki dishes, cooked in the traditional Japanese way – on a flat, hot iron girdle.

Soup ramen and udon dishes are served in one of three bases – traditional, miso or volcano – the latter suited to those with a spicier requirement. Word to the wise, the Japanese Roast Pork Ramen in Volcano Soup is a popular amongst the locals.

Sushi offerings range from the fabled four styles – Nigiri, Maki Mono, Temaki and Gunkan – over to Sushi Special Rolls such as the Cherry Kamo Roll (roast duck, cucumber and Hoisin Sauce), Summer Roll (chicken katsu or king prawn, spicy sauce with mayonnaise and cucumber) and Yasai Roll (avocado, sweet tofu, cucumber and pickled radish).

For the more traditional diner, Oiishi even offers Sashimi made from the finest, premium cuts of fresh fish. Available in five slice portions of individual fish or mixed platters in 10, 15 or 21 pieces.

The Bento Boxes pack in a selection of everything across the board, giving customers a chance to sample from each area across the menu – a great way to try something new alongside favourites.

Darren Teo, Managing Director, said: “Since inception, we’ve placed our focus on ensuring quality in the creation of our menus, using premium products and, as a result, have had great feedback across all channels so far.

“2018 promises to be an exciting year for all of us.”
