Ap­peal af­ter man stabbed

De­tec­tives are still ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion af­ter a Plains man was re­peat­edly stabbed in his own home by masked thugs.

The at­tack took place just af­ter mid­night last Mon­day, at the 37-year-old’s Mill­hall Court ad­dress.

Two men en­tered the prop­erty and stabbed their vic­tim nu­mer­ous times be­fore mak­ing off to­wards the court’s junc­tion with Ar­buckle Road where a ve­hi­cle may have been wait­ing for them.

The at­tack­ers are de­scribed as wear­ing dark cloth­ing and had their faces cov­ered.

The vic­tim was taken by am­bu­lance to Uni­ver­sity Hos­pi­tal Mon­k­lands where med­i­cal staff de­scribe his con­di­tion as sta­ble.

De­tec­tive Sergeant David La­mont from Coat­bridge CID said: “This was an ex­tremely vi­o­lent at­tack which we be­lieved was tar­geted and ex­ten­sive en­quiries are un­der­way to es­tab­lish the full cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the in­ci­dent.

“I would ap­peal to any­one who may have heard a dis­tur­bance or saw two men run­ning away from Mill­hall Court to get in touch.

“I would also like to speak to any­one who no­ticed a ve­hi­cle parked in Ar­buckle Road near the junc­tion with Mill­hall Court around the time of the at­tack.
