Appeal after man stabbed
Detectives are still appealing for information after a Plains man was repeatedly stabbed in his own home by masked thugs.
The attack took place just after midnight last Monday, at the 37-year-old’s Millhall Court address.
Two men entered the property and stabbed their victim numerous times before making off towards the court’s junction with Arbuckle Road where a vehicle may have been waiting for them.
The attackers are described as wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered.
The victim was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Monklands where medical staff describe his condition as stable.
Detective Sergeant David Lamont from Coatbridge CID said: “This was an extremely violent attack which we believed was targeted and extensive enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have heard a disturbance or saw two men running away from Millhall Court to get in touch.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who noticed a vehicle parked in Arbuckle Road near the junction with Millhall Court around the time of the attack.
“Contact Coatbridge CID via 101, quoting incident number 0016. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
