Ashley’s work nails it during royal visit
Beautician has her skills praised by Meghan Markle
A Coatbridge nail technician has had her handiwork praised by a future royal.
Ashley Toner said she had been “buzzing for days” after a client sent her a video of her meeting Meghan Markle on her recent royal trip to Edinburgh with Prince Harry.
In the video, a surprised Meghan spies the nails, freshly designed by Ashley, and comments “Wow, look at your nails! That’s pretty fantastic.”
Now Ashley is preparing a letter to Buckingham Palace to see if the Queen needs her nails done.
“I went back into work doing a royal wave!” quipped Ashley, who works at award-winning Notorious Nails in Coatbank.
“I’m already writing my letter to Her Majesty to see if she’s needing a top-up!”
Bubbly mum-of-two Ashley has s been inundated with messages of f congratulations since she shared the e video online.
Ashley was a dental nurse for 15 5 years before going back to college to o pursue her new career path.
“All jokes aside, this is a really y big deal for me personally,” she e explained.
“It’s incredible to have your work praised by someone like Meghan.
“I only started this properly about a year and a half ago. I had to go back to college for training but I’m so glad I did as this is such a great job.
“My boss was a bit unhappy it wasn’t her work! But really everyone at Notorious is chuffed to bits for me.”
Notorious Nails owner Tracy McGoogan added: “It’s absolutely amazing. We were really surprised that it has happened and I’m so proud that it’s one of my team.
“Ashley is understandably delighted.”
