Kerr welcomes Rovers dilemma

-

Albion Rovers boss Brian Kerr admits he will have a selection headache with his team to face Stranraer – but is welcoming it as some of his players return from injury.

Rovers have faced an injury crisis during their poor run of form .

However, Kerr expects to welcome back experienced defender Alan Reid and Hearts loanee Daniel Baur to the squad on Saturday.

He will also have Rangers loanee Kieran Wright available – who would have missed last week’s game against Arbroath as he was on Scotland under-19s duty. Ross Perry is also nearing full fitness after being named on the bench against East Fife.

Despite only fitting in one training session in the past week, Kerr insists the ‘Beast from the East’storm could have benefited them in the long-run.

The boss reckons he will have some big decisions to make against the Blues – but is happy to have the majority of his team available.

“It’s frustrating to miss out on our games last week because it was three important home games,”he told the Advertiser.

“But it gives us a chance to get some faces back and add some depth to the squad that hasn’t been there since the opening weeks of the season.

“Alan is only days away and we will have Daniel back after injury.

“It leaves me with decisions to make with a bit of a headache.

“That’s a positive though. We haven’t had that in so long – and it’s had an impact.”

The Coatbridge gaffer admits it is now crucial that they start to pick up points

He added: “We have played most of our away games now, so hopefully getting a wee run of games at home will help us.”
