Hall calls on Brigade
Forget visiting Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament; these youngsters were all business during their trip to London.
That’s because they were among the 700 Boys’Brigade members taking part in a special display in the English capital’s iconic Albert Hall.
Seventy of the boys were from Monklands companies and the visit formed part of the brigade’s centenary celebrations.
John Neil, formerly of the 9th Coatbridge Company, was the man responsible for making sure the train journey down south was on track. The well-behaved bunch are pictured in the May 20, 1983, edition of the Advertiser.
