Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser
Golf day is sure to be a big hit
School to the fore
The Airdrie and Coatbridge communities are invited to get into the swing of things to support a secondary school-run event putting fundraising to the fore.
St Margaret’s High has announced it is holding a golf day extravaganza in aid of St Andrew’s Hospice and school funds.
The fundraiser will be hosted by Airdrie Golf Club on September 16 – with any interested parties invited to submit their entries by Friday, June 15.
A spokesperson for the Airdrie school said: “We welcome golfers, parents, pupils and former pupils and members of the wider community to participate in this exciting event.
“All proceeds will be donated to St Andrew’s Hospice and our school funds and golfers taking part will get to play 18 holes. It will take the form of a competition format for teams of two or more and food and drink will be served to keep the golfers going.
“We hope as many people as possible come along and join in the fun to help make our golf day a well above par event!”
The £30 entry fee for the golf day includes tea and coffee, a hot roll upon arrival, 18 holes of golf and a one-course lunch, with a donation taken for the hospice and school funds.
Festivities are due to get underway at the Glenmavis Roadbased golf club at “approximately 11.15am “, although this is subject to change.
