Churchgoer David Logan, 55, was jailed for 20 months at Airdrie Sheriff Court after being found guilty of historic sex offences against two young schoolgirls dating back to the 1990s.
The bible-quoting hypocrite used to wait outside a secondary school at lunchtime and lured the girls into his lorry with promises of sweets, then molested them.
One of his victims has told the Advertiser of her torment at having to recall the abuse while giving evidence at Logan’s trial last month – and of how he remorselessly proclaimed “thou shalt not bear false witness” towards her as he was led away to begin his sentence.

A woman who was abused by “manipulat i ve” paedophile David Logan when she was 13 has told how he still gives her “the shivers”.
The 55-year-old grandfather was jailed for 20 months at Airdrie Sheriff Court after being found guilty of historic sex offences against two girls between 1996 and 1997. The court heard how churchgoer Logan, of Elm Drive, Chapelhall, used to wait outside the girls’ secondary school at lunchtime and lure them into his lorry. He would give them money one at a time to go and buy sweets from a nearby shop, while he drew the cabin’s curtains and molested the remaining girl.
One of Logan’s victims told the Advertiser he assaulted her ‘around 20 to 25 times’.
She said: “In his lorry, he would put his hands under my clothes and touch my bare skin.”
He cultivated a relationship with the girls as a member of the congregation at the church their families attended and the abuse also occurred during church trips.
Now, more than 20 years on, one of his victims has called Logan “a creepy old man who will never change”.
She told the Advertiser: “Even thinking and talking about him gives me shivers.
“He once gave me a tape with the Etta James song I Just Want to Make Love to You on it.
“He’s a good liar and not one part of him is remorseful for what he did or the impact he’s had on our lives.”
On giving evidence at his trial, she said: “Appearing on the stand was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.
“The fact he’s never admitted his guilt is the worst part.
“When the jury read out their verdict he shouted out, ‘God forgive you’ – but it’s him that needs to be asking for that.
“And when he was led away he looked me straight in the eye and said, ‘ thou shalt not bear false witness’.”
She went on: “Logan is a very manipulative person.
“He made us think our parents knew he was at our school to bring us our lunch.
“Because he knew them through the church and saw them every weekend I thought it was OK.
“I can remember feeling very worried and desperate for the other girl to come back whenever I was alone with him in the lorry.
“But I never spoke up because I didn’t think anyone would believe me over an adult.”
The woman says she can still pinpoint the moment she realised something terrible was happening.
She recalled: “I was an animal lover and Logan knew I had rabbits with a big underground run and he built one very similar and asked my parents to let me come round to see it.
“When I was there, he pinned me down on his living room floor. It was terrifying.”
Although Logan’s conviction has now given her closure, the woman says she was forced to leave the area some years ago over fears for her safety.
She explained: “He used to sit outside my work. I was terrified of what he might do.
“I moved up north and only really felt safe to return a couple of years ago.
“His sentencing was the first time I’d seen him in years.”
The woman, who now has children of her own, admits her ordeal at the hands of Logan has affected the way she brings up her kids.
She said: “I don’t want to let them out of my sight. If they want to go out or over to their friends’ houses I’m in a panic.
“My oldest doesn’t understand why I won’t let him go to his friend’s house if I don’t know their parents.
“But the reality is I’m unable to trust now and that’s all down to David Logan.”
