To celebrate National Share-a-Story month, Stewart Milne Homes is inviting nurseries and schools across Monklands to apply for their chance to win a share of £1000 to spend on books for their library.

The Share- a-Story campaign is held annually to embrace the art of storytelling among children and the house-builder is on the hunt to find the most popular story across its central Scotland developments.

Stewart Milne Homes is challenging nurseries and primary schools to state the children’s book they would most like to share and why – in one sentence – for their chance to win one of the four literacy prizes worth £250.

Sales and marketing director Marlyn Boal said: “Everybody loves a good story and books are an excellent tool for learning and development, as well as capturing the imagination of readers of all ages.

“Through our literacy fund we want to help more and more young people enjoy and share a good story.

“We’d love to hear what books young readers near to our developments are enjoying and we’re excited to see what comes up.

“With so many exceptional story tellers out there, we’re sure the answers will make for some interesting reading.”

To enter, email which story you’d most like to share and why – in one sentence – to SMHshareastory@ bigpartnership.co.uk.

All entries must be received by 5pm on Thursday, May 30, and should include the name of the nursery, school or class (if any in particular) along with contact details.
