Super slimmer Maryanne wins group award
It’s not often losing is celebrated as an amazing success, but Coatbridge woman Maryanne Rea will take it every day of the week.
That’s because her terrific weight loss over the last six months has seen her crowned Greatest Loser at her local Slimming World group.
Resolute Maryanne has dropped 2st 7lb in that time and her confidence levels have skyrocketed as she embraces her new fantastic physique.
Maryanne told the Advertiser: “I joined the Slimming World group at St Andrew’s High School back in November because I was losing all confidence in myself.
“I didn’t feel like myself and hated getting pictures taken as I didn’t like what I looked like in the photos.
“But I have now shed more than two stones and feel much better.
“Winning the group’s Greatest Loser prize was a real honour and it shows just how far I have come in a relatively short period of time.”
Maryanne added: “I am much more happy and confident now and the biggest difference is my whole attitude to food.
“I really enjoy food optimising and can still have a lot to eat.
“My favourite thing about group is that everyone is so friendly.
“They made me feel welcome right from the start and continue to motivate me.
“The other members go that extra mile, like a little message they made for me to come to class when I was scared of the scales.
“We are like a big family and I don’t know what I would have done without them all.”
Rachel Clements, Maryanne’s Slimming World consultant, is delighted with her success and has loved watching her blossom and grow in confidence.
She added: “Maryanne has been an inspirational figure since joining the group and is a welldeserving winner of the Greatest Loser award.
“She is a wonderful person and we are all so thrilled by how well she has done thus far.
“I am really glad that she decided to come to the group and proud to have witnessed her journey to a much happier and healthier life.”
Rachel runs Slimming World groups in St Andrew’s High School, Coatbridge, on Thursdays at 5.30pm and 7.30pm and Saturdays at 9.30am.
She is welcoming new members to sign up for the group.
