Mum and carer Coleen is an ‘amazing inspiration’
Coatbridge woman loses over two stones in four months
An “inspirational” family woman who looks after her baby daughter and cares for her two younger brothers has found the time in her busy life to shed more than two stones in four months.
Coleen Bradley, of Coatbridge, was inspired to lose weight after giving birth to her daughter in July of last year.
She joined her local Slimming World group, at St Andrew’s High School, six months later and has now lost 2st 2lb.
Marvellous mum Coleen told the Advertiser: “After giving birth in July I ate anything in sight. I went out for lunch with friends every chance I could get.
“I hated how much weight I had gained and quickly lost all of my confidence.
“I felt insecure and really didn’t like getting my photo taken because I thought I looked awful.
“I joined Slimming World in January as I finally thought to myself that enough was enough.”
Coleen added: “I love being on the Slimming World plan and I feel much more healthy.
“I take care of my two younger brothers and they love the meals I make for them every day.
“I can’t believe I have lost more than two stones. I have my confidence back and now enjoy getting my photo taken with the kids and making new memories.
“I still have a long way to go, but I’m definitely on the right track.”
She said of group consultant Rachel Clements: “Rachel has been amazing and the support everyone gets at group is overwhelming.
“I also enjoy staying for image therapy as you get so many ideas, and even more support, from everyone else.”
Rachel hailed the caring mum’s slimming success, saying: “Coleen is an amazing inspiration to all members of the group, including me.
“She is so busy with a baby and looking after her two younger brothers full-time, but still manages to stay for group every week and support others.
“Coleen is an amazing woman, mum and big sister and I am delighted to give her some well-deserved recognition.”
Rachel’s Slimming World groups get together at St Andrew’s High every Thursday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm and on Saturday mornings from 9.30am; phone 07595 349833 to find out more.
