Rachael’s ready for her big day

- Mark Pirie

Sports therapist Rachael Brown can’t wait for Saturday’s big match – as she looks to tick more names off her list of Old Firm meetings.

The 22-year-old will be providing massages for the players and first aid during the game on Saturday.

Rachael regularly helps out at charity matches, and the Rangers supporter lended her expertise at the Fernando Ricksen charity game – which raises cash for the former Ibrox star’s charity foundation.

As well as the hospice clash, she will be working at the Ray Wilkins Memorial Cup in London next month at Sutton United’s Gander Green Lane.

Bathgate resident Rachael was inspired to help out at the weekend’s match after her mother received palliative care at the hospice in the months before she passed away.

So, with the cause close to her heart, she can’t wait for the big kick-off.

“I’ve done a few charity games, and have got to meet some Rangers legends by doing the Fernando Ricksen charity match” Rachael told the Advertiser.

“However, Graeme Souness and Ally McCoist are two that I have never had the chance to meet before – so I’m really looking forward to it.”

Away from the football side she can’t wait to meet some of her River City favourites – with Stephen McCole, Stephen Purdon and Jordan Young also lining up on the day.

“I’m a big River City fan – so the chance to meet some of these guys as well is great.

“It should be a really brilliant day.”
