Coach is what the Proctor ordered

- Andrew Bargh

Airdrie boss Stephen Findlay has hailed the addition of David Proctor to his coaching staff as a “great capture”.

Former Diamonds player Proctor has returned to the club where he spent two seasons in 2007 and 2014/15.

Findlay this week hailed the quality of the additions to his playing staff, but is equally as excited with Proctor’s signature.

He told the Advertiser: “I’m absolutely delighted to have David on board with us for next season.

“We’ve known each other for a long time and he’s got great experience in the game.

“It wasn’t quite a pact, but we’ve always had an ambition to work together in management.

“The agreement was whoever became a firstteam manager would bring the other on board.

“I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

Meanwhile, Findlay expects next season’s League One campaign to be even more competitive than the one which has just ended.

He added: “I really think anyone can beat anyone next season.

“There’s no outright favourite for the league and we must pick up results at the right place and right time.”
