Magic and music for Fair Day
Magic, inflatables, stalls, music and dance and fitness demonstrations will be just some of the spectacular sights and sounds on offer at Airdrie Fair Day this Saturday.
The town centre’s Graham Street will come to a standstill as it’s transformed into a colourful cornucopia packed with fun-filled festivities from 10am to 4pm.
And the attractions will spread to other nearby areas, including South Bridge Street and Buchanan Street, with the former hosting a second stage for the first time in the event’s history, as the whole town has a ball.
Stage entertainment will kick off at 11am, led by MC Steve McKenna and organisations turning out on the day include the army, Airdrie Foodbank, Hoots Owls with their birds of prey display and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Heritage Trust, who will drive an old fire engine to town.
Event sponsors NHS and Albert Bartlett will host information stalls and a truck full of potatoes to give away respectively and local shops and charities have the chance to come out and showcase their products.
Jack Duffy, town centres coordinator at Town Centre Activities and main organiser of the Fair Day, said:“We have received a high number of queries expressing an interest in taking part.
“We hope to give as many local groups as possible the chance to participate.
“This is a child-friendly event, suitable for all age groups, and no tickets or bookings are required.”
