Get spiritual at church

-

Airdrie music fans were treated to a cracking concert by one of the world’s most popular choirs.

The multi-talented musicians from the Glasgow-based Phoenix Choir were invited to perform in the town by the Coatbridge, Airdrie & Monklands Rotary Club.

New Wellwynd Church was packed full of enthused rotarians, guests and audience members.

The choir was conducted by the supremely skilled Marilyn J. Smith MBE, with Cameron Murdoch acting as an outstanding accompanist and depute conductor.

A spokesperson for the rotary club told the Advertiser:“As ever, the Phoenix Choir gave a wonderful performance with a wide selection of music entertaining the community audience.

“We’d like to thank the choir for coming out to Airdrie and treating everyone to their outstanding work.

“It was a night that everyone on hand will never forget.”

Coatbridge, Airdrie & Monklands Rotary Club president Colin Ooi is pictured above delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks to the many people involved in the musical event’s organisation. The Coatbridge-based Angel of Love and Light Spiritualist Church has issued an appeal for new members to join the organisation.

Those interested can pop along to the group’s meetings, which take place every Monday at 7.30pm in Coatbridge community centre.
