New book is all about helping the elderly
Backed by solicitors
St Andrew’s Hospice is launching an exciting new “All About Me” book for patients and the wider community.
The publication is designed to help people put their affairs in order by recording important information.
This includes details of family, friends and final wishes, plus practical information such as where key documents including wi l l s, birth and marriage certificates are kept.
Legal organisation Solicitors for Older People Scotland is sponsoring the first 1000 copies of the new book.
The group of law firms provides legal services to older people, seeking to do so “in a caring and sensitive way, and trying to remove any fear older people may have about seeking legal help”.
Vivienne Malcolm, representative of Solicitors for Older People Scotland, said: “St Andrew’s Hospice does such great work for our community and this is just another example of that, so we’re pleased to help in any way we can.
“We believe issues facing older people and their families are much better dealt with by planning ahead, and we encourage all our clients to do this.”
Hospice trust fundraising officer Lorna McCafferty told the Advertiser: “On behalf of the patients and staff of St Andrew’s Hospice, I’d like to thank Solicitors for Older People Scotland for kindly agreeing to sponsor the first 1000 copies of our All About Me book.
“We are very grateful for their support.”
