Colin does the treble
Colin McLeod has been hailed as an“inspiring figure”by his fellow Airdrie slimmers.
The hard-working Caldercruix native scooped the highly sought-after man of the year accolade at his local Slimming World group – for the third year in a row.
The award was fitting reward for his four stones weight loss since joining the organisation.
But despite his success, Colin refuses to rest on his laurels and continues to attend at group every week.
Consultant Tracy Brown said:“Colin is a truly inspiring figure and it’s a testament to his drive and commitment that he has won our man of the year prize three years on the trot.
“He is a shining example of what can be done and I hope that what Colin has achieved encourages other men across Airdrie to sign up to Slimming World.”
Tracy added:“Research from Slimming World’s Machobesity report suggests that men see it as‘masculine’to make unhealthy lifestyle choices that can have a negative effect on their weight, rather than choosing healthier ‘feminine’foods.
“However, with the help of weightmanagement organisations like Slimming World, men can reduce their risk of conditions, including type two diabetes and heart disease.
“Leading a healthy lifestyle doesn’t always have to mean salads and carrot sticks.”
