Day trip for winners
The support group team enjoy a visit to Loch Lomond as part of their sightseeing prize Lanarkshire’s Positive Support group – run by drug and alcohol charity Addaction – won a Scottish sightseeing day trip, after members displayed artwork at Hepatitis Scotland’s display in the Gallery of Modern Art.
The group’s personal creations won ‘overall best artwork’and the winning trip saw them hop on a bus to visit Scottish points of interest including Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle and the famous Kelpies statues.
Positive Support helps people affected by blood conditions, like viral hepatitis and HIV, across North and South Lanarkshire.
Service lead Marc Simpson said:“We’re so proud of our people and the contributions they make to our group.
“As well as enjoying the recent day trip, they also got a self-esteem boost from winning the award. It’s great to see their skills recognised and praised, which could be a first for some of them.”
One participant’s feedback read:“This was one of the best days I’ve had in a long time and I made a few friends.
“Thank you to all the team at Positive Support for everything you have done for me.”

Individual support visits can take place at people’s homes or agreed public places. These can involve medical appointment support, at-home blood tests, welfare advice and inclusion in group activities.
