Ann is an inspiration for fellow group members
A committed slimmer has burst her initial weight-loss target by more than half-a-stone.
Ann Kerr has been lauded as “a fabulous inspiration” by her Slimming World consultant after shedding nearly three-and-a-half stones in less than a year.
Airdrie woman Ann, 56, scooped a target award from the Slimming World group that meets in her home town’s Cairnlea Church for her stellar efforts.
Ann said: “I have lost just under threeand-a-half stones and I’m absolutely delighted.
“I initially wanted to lose two-and-ahalf stones but I’m delighted to beat that target and determined to keep going.
“I am a target member at my Slimming World group and that fills me with a lot of pride, especially considering the wonderful people involved.”
Sharon McGinness runs the Cairnlea Church group, and several other Slimming World classes in Airdrie, and waxed lyrical about Ann and her success.
Sharon revealed: “Ann is a fabulous inspiration to all of us in group and is now a target member.
“She took a straight journey to her target weight by losing weight every single week, while still getting to eat all of her favourite foods.
“Ann attends group every single week and helps with events like our raffle competition.
“She does a lot of body magic, mainly walking to and from work and group.”
Sharon added: “Food optimising and body magic are what is keeping Ann at her target weight.
“It doesn’t have to be about going to the gym five days a week. We help members learn how to fit this into their lives. Her husband now comes along to group too.
“The Monday group Ann attends now has 18 target members that come regularly to maintain their healthy weight and help and support everyone else to get to target – and stay there for life.”
