Broke court order after one month

-

A Kirkwood woman struggled with police officers who were trying to take her to hospital for medical treatment.

And she then broke her court order punishment after only a month.

Gillian Bradley, 42, conducted herself in a disorderly manner, shouted and swore and acted aggressively in the car park at the rear of Dunbeth Court flats in Coatbridge and on the way to University Hospital Monklands.

She also kicked a chair and was charged with behaving in a threatening and abusive manner and committing a breach of the peace.

The incident took place in July 2015 and Bradley pled guilty four months later.

The Balmoral Crescent resident was sentenced to a community payback order with 18 months’ supervision at Airdrie Sheriff Court in March 2016.

During Bradley’s initial sentencing the procurator fiscal described her foulmouthed conduct on the day of the offence: “At 2.50pm police officers attended and told the accused they were taking her to Monklands Hospital in an ambulance.

“She began shouting and swearing, saying, ‘I’m going nowhere’ and ‘I’m going to cut my throat’.

“Eventually she was conveyed to the hospital but began struggling with police officers.”

Bradley later breached her community payback order and was sentenced to a restriction of liberty order on July 2 of this year.

Just over a month later she has once again owned up to defying court conditions.

She was due to face the music last week but failed to appear in court.

Sheriff Frank Pieri then ordered her to appear later this month.
